Power 12U Elite Wins Monster Bash College Showcase

The Pittsburgh Power 12U Elite team participated in the Monster Bash College Showcase tournament this past weekend (Sept 29,30) and came away as tournament Champions at the 12U age level posting a 6-0 record and outscoring their opponents 40-7.

The team defense was stellar throughout the weekend going errorless over the 6 games and adding numerous exceptional plays from Jasilyn Guenther in right field and Liliana Koller at 1st base.

On elimination Sunday Lilli Wamsley took the circle for the 1st game and pitched a shutout in combination with a Power offensive eruption that pushed 10 runs across the plate. The offense was lead by Lauren Buckley, Amelia Perri, Lauren Shaugis, and Jasilyn Guenther.

It was Emalee Cavender's turn to assume the pitching duties for the Semi-Final game and Emalee stepped up in a big way to combine with battery mate Kylie Desalle and flawless defensive effort to pitch a critically needed shutout in 1-0 victory. Ann Melle drove in Amelia Perri to plate the only run of a very tight hard fought game.

Ann Melle took command of the pitching circle for Power in the Championship game against the Ohio Ice. Ann threw some major heat to melt down an explosive Ice offense in a 7-3 victory. Liliana Koller and Maura Flynn, who combined to hit .750 for the tournament, lead the offensive attack. But, it was Megan Manesiotis who put an exclamation point on the weekend with a grand slam home run over the left field fence in the 2nd inning.

Congratulations on a great well earned Championship for the Power 12U Elite team.
